Quite fun to read Mr Abiey n Cik Yeast type sumting bout wud they understand in their blog, well then im gonna try this method too. lol. ok, my subject is same with Yeast, so I will add some fact, definition and explanation about seed germination and seed dormancy from the journal given. ok 1st i will try to understand the abstarct given by Ms Rebecca.

Seed germination - a process where seed start to grow.

Ex-situ conservation - or call as "off-site conversation", process of protecting endangered species by removing part of the population from a threatened habitat n place it to a new location.

Endemic seeds - Seeds that present within a localized area or only found in a particular area.

Thermoperiod - the effect on the growth and reproduction of plants of timed exposures to varied temperatures.

Double dormancy (natural) - every seeds have a combination of dormancy, seeds need to be broken in turn and in the right sequence before germination take place. k for example, Lilies need 3 month warm period, which the root start to develops and then continue with three month chilling to break dormancy of the shoots before it germinate.

Double germination (in lab) - means a set of seeds undergo 2 sequences of stimulated thermoperiods which is 1st with prechilling and 2nd w'out prechilling

Stratification - the chilling of seeds to break dormancy, improve germination, promote rapid germination and promote uniform germination.

There are many types of dormancy but in this journal they keep talking about Morphological Dormancy (MD).

Morphological Dormancy - morphology of embryo not developed.

then come Morphophysiological Dormancy to confuse me =.=

Morphophysiological Dormancy - is a underdeveloped embryo, where embryo growth and dormancy break requires, it can happen either embryo growth 1st then dormancy break or both.
